It was an eventful week and not in a good way really.
On Tuesday night I couldn’t get to sleep ‘they’ kept bugging me about something for four hours until 5:30 in the morning when I finally got them to shut up. I had weird dreams all week by the way.
So Wednesday, I woke up and not once but three times, in the course of getting ready for work, I had a voice telling me to call off. I didn’t and ended up on cash only to have a rude entitled person rip a strip off me because I refused to accept her expired card. I ended up calling over the CSM to help and subsequently ring her up, also refusing her card in the process. To me the customer was rude, all the time I was saying that I didn’t make up the rules I only had to follow them. When it came to the female CSM though the customer changed her tune and said it was “hot flashes” as the reason for her attitude. So, it’s okay to treat a guy like shit but when it comes to a woman you can make up an excuse? This is the abuse that men face daily.
Thursday, I had the voice tell me once again to call off work, and, of course, I ignored it and went into work. I ended up tripping and falling in the garden centre while properly exercising ‘team lift’ to move an empty pallet. I felt sore at the time but not enough to stop me from working.
Friday morning around 9am I awoke to a severe spasm/cramp in my right leg, you know the kind that feels like someone is cutting into your calf (I remembered the name of the body part some time on Saturday) with a razor blade. The result of the cramp was that my calf was left knotted almost solid and it hurt to walk. It would later cause my foot to swell and leg to hurt before bed but that was to be expected, I guess.
I called off work only to have to call in and speak to the Assistant Manager because it was a workplace related injury. She offered me either the option of ‘modified duties’ or to take the day off. I respectfully declined the modified duties (I’m not that crippled up yet) and opted for the day off. Which, as it turns out, they ended up paying me for which helps. They would have offered me a cab ride to and from work and the temporary role as greeter, so I did save them $50+ on a cab by not coming in.
So, Saturday, I was assigned to light duty, stuck in the photo department, not overly bad day and it quieted down after dinner.
The thing is, from Wednesday morning until Saturday morning, maybe even Friday night, I kept seeing 5’s everywhere. The accident even took place, officially, at 5:15pm – 5’s are a number of change.
Since Saturday the number of 5’s in my day has dropped to almost nil, even when I check the time at random there has been only one 5 come up. It would appear, that the ‘changes’ that were meant to occur, have come to pass.
