Local 1190 is the Red Deer Firefighter’s Association and is an affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).

Central Alberta Municipal Conservatives (endorsement of support)

A group of volunteers dedicated to ensuring that constituents are able to get to know their local candidates, their values, their ethics and their morals. And whether or not, they align with traditional conservative values. To hear their local candidates platform and provide a space for candidates to engage with the public if they choose. A group where upcoming training and events can be shared so constituents can get involved, informed and educated. Our volunteers will assist candidates with door knocking and campaign advertisement to ensure we have successful conservative candidates elected. We do not raise money and we are not a political party.

Project Red Deer (endorsement of support)

Project Red Deer is a grassroots community group focused on helping families, individuals, and children in crisis access support in Red Deer. We aim to share real-time info on housing, food, clothing, medical help, and emotional support. Everyone is welcome — whether you need help or want to help others

Fire Safety


​I’m going to hazard a guess (without doing any research) that not a single apartment building in our city prohibits storing e-bikes, scooters, or other similar devices inside your apartment. Don’t own one yourself? The danger could still be sitting on the other side of the wall with your neighbors.

I’m not saying they should be banned, but landlords definitely need to raise awareness among tenants about the growing risks of this common practice. These electric vehicles are becoming so unpredictable that ferries, subways, and underground parking facilities are now prohibiting their entry and storage. Convenience isn’t always better.
