In your view, what is the primary role of municipal government in a community like Red Deer?
 
Answer: “The primary role of municipal government is to govern the community and make decisions that guide how the city operates in a fair, equitable, and unbiased manner.”
 
If elected, what specific policy or initiative would you prioritize or advocate for on Council?
 
Answer: “I believe my platform reflects my priorities and the issues I would personally advocate for. However, as a Councillor, I do not represent only myself—my priorities must be guided by the needs my constituents believe should be addressed first.”
 
How would you have voted on the decision to establish a supervised consumption site in Red Deer — in favour or against? Please explain.
 
Answer: “I would have voted against this as an individual and likely against this as a councillor representing the majority of opinions I have heard on this subject. I do not feel enabling drug use is the way to put an end to the abuse. Our focus, as I’ve expressed online, should be in the centralized availability of services and encouraging rehabilitation and return to society.”
 
Do you support City Council’s decision to create a municipally controlled corporation (MCC) to manage electricity delivery in Red Deer? Why or why not?
 
Answer: “Having grown up in Ontario and witnessed the problems created over the past 40 years from first incorporating and merging public utilities and then privatizing electrical services, my answer is no. I’ve seen many aspects of municipal politics and development in Ontario that I’m determined not to have happen here."
 
Do you support Alberta becoming an Independent Nation?
 
Answer: “This is a matter for Alberta residents to decide and is not related to municipal politics at this time. I am running for City Council.”
 
Do you think downtown is the only area of the city that needs to be revitalised?
 
Answer: “In my view, revitalization in Red Deer should begin with the downtown. If the city’s core isn’t healthy and vibrant, the community lacks a strong foundation to grow from.”
