Fire ban alerts?

My response: ​As long as I can opt-out of it like I do all the other 'alerts' (which are 99% nothing but 'testing') that's great. The city alerts people about snow removal because 1) it's the number one complaint in winter, 2) if you don't move your vehicle you get towed (that's a lot different than lighting a fire in your backyard for marshmallows). I don't have any opposition to this idea for those who choose willingly to have the service on their phones. phones.
