Questions & Replies

To encourage transparency and accountability, I will post here the reasonable questions about the City of Red Deer that I receive and can answer. Often, these are simply comments I’ve read and replied to on Facebook. You’re welcome to share the responses I’ve posted here—since they’re already publicly available—but please be courteous and cite this page as the source, including the website in your repost. Thank you!

Do you have lawn signs?

I’m just waiting on postcards to come in—not 10,000 though, because dropping $650 on paper that mostly ends up in the trash makes no sense. Same with campaign signs at $10*+ each (so another $500+ to spend). They’d just sit in storage for four years on the off chance I ran again, and most communities can’t even recycle them because of the material they’re made from. That kind of waste doesn’t sit right with me.

I’d rather be smart with money and focus on the message, not old-school marketing gimmicks. I’ve been through a Federal election myself and helped a friend with theirs, so I know how fast money disappears without actually winning people’s trust.

If my policies—which you can read online—line up with your views, that’s fantastic, and I’d be grateful for your vote on October 20, 2025. If they don’t, that’s okay too. What I won’t do is pretend to be something I’m not. My job, if elected, is to listen to Red Deer residents and represent the majority, not just a few loud voices.

Thank you for your consideration,
Kevin M. Klerks
