CPR Bridge, Niitsitapi Park, South Riverside Trail Park

Updated: February 13, 2026
I'd stopped updating this back in November, but that will change in the next week or so as I upload all of the pictures and videos I've taken of this publicly funded project.

Companies involved in this project (so far identified):
Graham Construction & Engineering, Mammoet Crane Rentals,
Atco, Red Deer Light & Power

$170,000!!!

My comments on Facebook (Red Deer & Area News Page):

I think between the drug addicts , people urinating, vandals and graffiti artists we're going to get enough "artistic installations" in that Park after we waste 23 million dollars plus on it and the bridge. This wasteful spending has got to stop! www.kevinmklerks.ca

I think the message needs to go out far and wide to the art community and tell them that anyone who applies for this project is really saying to Red Deer residents that they need the money more than our Red Deer Firefighters do. I hope that everyone on here is able to Blacklist this project and send a message to the city that we refuse to allow them to waste $170,000 on this art project.

I can think of a lot better things to spend $170,000 on then some overpriced nonsense which is just going to get vandalized in the first week. It's ironic they talk about this and the utility box that they have sitting right outside the construction site, the pretty green electric box that they have ready to install, was graffitied the first night it was sitting there. What do they think is going to happen to these art installations they're wasting money on?
