A good person, hard worker, helpful, quiet, beautiful soul, passed away tragically this past week. My only memories of them are work related because that is the only opportunity I had to get to meet and know this beautiful soul. And now, their only legacy, in my mind, is their work ethic. I mean, that is quite sad. I do not want to be remembered that way. I want to be remembered for other things, like my personality, or the way I make people laugh, or my honesty, or, you know, anything other than work itself.
This entire year has sucked, maybe not as much as 2016 did but still it was chock full of a lot of negative things and it seems to keep getting worse.
I do not want to be remembered for my work ethic. I could care less. Nobody cares, five years from now they will not care how I performed my job. Do you think the people who got to know this soul are discussing their work ethic today? I would hope they are talking about what a beautiful soul they had and how when they entered a room people smiled. I mean, that is the way you should be remembered. Right?
